About

10 years ago I thought it would be a great idea to start a blog, a book, anything, about being a Stay-at-home-dad. It even has it's own moniker, SAHD, get it? This was before stay-at-home dads were common or readily accepted as competent. At the time I could count the number of stay-at-home's in my town on three fingers.

I've never adopted the SAHD moniker. It just sounds like some sorry loser who got himself stuck and can't see his way to happiness. Fuck that. I've had horrific moments as a stay-at-home dad, but just as many amazing ones, I father on.

I finally decided to start writing about being the primary caregiver to the kids; I have two, a boy and a girl, and one who grew up with her mom and is already in college.

I want to write this blog with no bullshit. I have written funny essays about it, and they've even been published. But that's hardly the whole story. I think 10 years after starting this life-changing adventure I'm finally confident enought to be honest about it. I want to talk about the horrific moments and the elation I've found in this life because of my kids, and hopefully give someone some inspiration along the way. Cheers.
